What Affects Curtain Cost?
Understanding these factors helps you make an informed decision and get the best value.
Fabric Type & Quality
The biggest cost driver is your fabric choice. Basic polyester sheers cost less than premium European linens or velvet. Blackout fabrics cost more than standard sheers due to the additional lining. Higher thread counts and specialty weaves like jacquard or damask command a premium. However, quality fabric lasts significantly longer and drapes better, making it a worthwhile investment for your Dubai home.
Window Size & Height
Larger windows require more fabric, which directly affects cost. Floor-to-ceiling windows (common in Dubai Marina and Downtown) use 15-25% more fabric than standard windows. Extra-wide panoramic windows may require additional fabric panels. Window height is particularly important as curtain fabric is sold by the meter, so a 3-meter drop costs proportionally more than a 2.5-meter drop.
Lining & Finishing
Standard lining adds AED 20-30/m² to the base fabric cost. Three-pass blackout lining, which provides 100% light blocking, adds AED 30-50/m². Thermal lining adds insulation and costs AED 25-40/m² extra. The curtain heading style also affects cost: simple pencil pleat is the most affordable, while pinch pleat and goblet headings cost 10-15% more due to the additional labor involved.
Track & Motorization
Standard aluminium curtain tracks are included in our base prices. Ceiling-recessed tracks for a concealed look add AED 50-80 per linear meter. Decorative rods in brushed brass or matte black add AED 100-200 per window. Motorization is the biggest upgrade, adding AED 200-350 per window depending on the motor type. Hard-wired motors cost more upfront but have zero ongoing costs, while battery-powered motors are cheaper to install but need battery replacement every 1-2 years.
Estimated Cost by Apartment Type
Typical total costs based on standard window sizes. Actual cost depends on curtain type chosen.
| Apartment Type | Typical Windows | Estimated Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Studio | 1-2 | AED 1,200 - 2,500 |
| 1 Bedroom | 2-3 | AED 2,500 - 5,000 |
| 2 Bedroom | 3-5 | AED 3,500 - 8,000 |
| 3 Bedroom | 5-8 | AED 5,500 - 12,000 |
| Villa (3-4 BR) | 10-15 | AED 10,000 - 25,000 |
Estimates based on standard window sizes and a mix of blackout (bedrooms) and sheer (living areas) curtains. Floor-to-ceiling windows in Dubai Marina and Downtown Dubai may cost 15-20% more.

Money-Saving Tips
Smart strategies to get premium curtains without overspending.
Order a Full Apartment Package
Our whole-apartment packages save 10-15% compared to ordering room by room. For a 2-bedroom apartment, a package deal typically saves AED 500-1,000. We calculate the most efficient fabric cutting layout across all your windows, minimizing waste and passing the savings to you.
Mix Curtain Types Strategically
You do not need the same curtain type in every room. Use blackout only where you need it (bedrooms, media rooms) and cost-effective sheers in living areas and dining rooms. This mixed approach can save 20-30% compared to putting the premium combo option in every room.
Choose Polyester-Blend Fabrics
Pure linen and silk fabrics look beautiful but cost significantly more. Modern polyester-blend fabrics replicate the look and feel of natural fibers at 40-60% of the cost and are actually more durable in Dubai's climate. They resist UV fading, handle humidity better, and are machine washable.
Skip Motorization in Low-Traffic Rooms
Motorized curtains are a significant premium. Reserve them for your main living room and master bedroom where you will use them daily. In spare bedrooms, children's rooms, and guest rooms, standard manual curtains work perfectly well and save AED 200-350 per window.
Standard Tracks Instead of Decorative Rods
Our ceiling-mounted aluminium tracks are included in the base price and create a clean, modern look. Decorative rods and rings add AED 100-200 per window for a more traditional aesthetic. If modern suits your space, the included track is the best value.
